Alexandre Bonnet La Géande Champagne Les Riceys 2017
Alexandre Bonnet La Géande Champagne Les Riceys 2017
A unique cuvée of the seven traditional Champagne grape varieties grown in the same plot, La Géande is a kaleidoscope of textures and flavors.
Aging was 36 months on lees, then disgorging with low dosage to preserve the wine purity.
4,449 bottles and 50 Magnums bottles were produced for the 2017 Vintage.
Appearance is a clear and pale gold with green glints. The nose has intriguing peach, pear, fresh quince, fig, apricot, plum and mandarin aromas with floral, fresh almonds and sweet spices. The palate is opulent, powerful, mouth-watering, with an elegant and structuring mineral (chalky and granite) backbone.
A fine sparkling wine even when young; should be able to cellar for 20 years.
Alcohol : 12.5%
Awards:
- Decanter - 95 Points - "A fascinating multi-blend assemblage, nose of fig, mandarin, plum and flowers. The palate is chalky, suitably austere and almost granitic on the finish, which is exactly how it should be"
